“ Life is beautiful and there’s so much to smile about”- MARLYN MUNROE
Life is all about marvellous drift and downs. We all know that a human soul goes through many transformations before it can actually get a human body as by ‘Gift’- that’s why it is asked to treasure this body we have. According to our Puranas and Bhagavad Gita, we need to undergo a lot of lives to attain a human form. It is said that our soul has to pass through 84,00,00,00 species in order to get a human life. We have caught this life after a lot of struggle, so we should use it by helping others. We have to internalize potentiality and significance of life. It is gifted to us after a lot of good deeds and efforts. But in recent time, we are more striving towards material life, where material, wealth, prosperity, desires, over possessions dominating our lives. We are now a part of globalisation, fast and furious competitive roads, the further race for the accumulation of wealth and prestige. Though they advertently piercing and influencing every cornerstone of life, looks glamorous and attractive, but also brings a kind of alienation within society, where people are becoming more prone towards individualistic ideology. This deviance and aloofness have affected every age group either youngsters, adults or old people.
We usually came across several kinds of suicides in daily newspaper, here I want to mention how this term has taken various shapes and spread like a cancerous cells, like most we have to hear about how children are taking away their lives, being involved in some dangerous games like blue whale, MoMo suicide challenge, youngster took their life on failure in their studies or love life or some very common problem, farmers attempt suicide due to economic breakdown or officials attempt suicide due to pressure of senior officials , some commit it due to illness etc. Seriously we have no value for our life! We have to understand the importance of our lives. Suicide is not a solution to graving problems. We are blessed with the power of emotions and decision-making capacity, before committing such a crime a person has to consider all the important aspects of life. We have no rights to end this blessed life.
Suicide is a reason for the person to end his or her life. We are known to a country consisting the largest number of youngsters in the world, from here we can assume the power of the nation in the coming future. Youth are considered as powerful, enthusiastic weapon to rise and cure the political, social and economic issues and can bring enormous change. But the most disturbing point of concern is that Every hour, one student commits suicide in India, according to NCRB report. India has one of the world’s highest suicide rates for youth aged 15 to 29. On conversation with counsellors revealed that young people find it difficult to cope with failure in examinations and careers and neither families nor other social institutions offer adequate support to solace. Other than this more than 22% of India’s population over 18 years suffers from a substance disorder, including alcoholism, moderate to severe use of tobacco and drug abuse. This data shows that how the importance of life fell down. Since the womb of our mother, we fight for existence, to overcome all the difficulties our desire for survival bring us to this beautiful world, most importantly our lives are the outcome of several sacrifices of our parents, who persistently working hard to make it is more comfortable. But what people actually return to them by ending their lives for just silly issues.
This is an offence which is committed for several reasons like the economic crisis, illness, failure, family problems, social disharmony but what ultimately leads people to involve in this is their imbalance of mind. People are now considered better to live separately rather than being a part of society, they don’t want any kind of control over them, for the social norms and values don’t matter. Ultimately during downfall, they have no one to support them or to help them, to overcome this situation which ultimately forced them to commit suicide. Being a youth once I was also trapped within this cancerous discourse, but what I found that for my failure no one else is responsible, I cannot run away from my own mistakes, a ‘depression’ word has not much supremacy on me that my own strength of life. Now I am doing well in another field. Therefore, we should say that “ Happiness is the state of mind”, and it’s our mental state that decides our destiny.
For flourishing the thought of beautiful life, there are some necessary steps to be adopted in life:
- Parents should spend quality time with their children every day.
- Children and adults should be treated as a friend to share their problems.
- A person who lives alone should be given the company to share his/her grief.
- There are many solutions to any problem, instead of committing suicide a person should go for proper discussions.
- Ask directly to a person about his/her thought.
- Seek medical treatments.
- Help others to overcome this situation.
- Go to yoga and meditation sessions for mental stability.
- There are other agencies are working for people upliftment and removal of negative vibes.
- People should join the art of living and other institutions for bringing their positive strength.
There are many more ways which help to prevent this lethal step to mankind. We have a lot of examples who fought bravely with their situations. The most important example I would like to state is of Arunima Sinha. In spite of all the horrifying incident took place to her, she doesn’t stop and fought with all the ills and emerge out to an IRON lady, in front of whom the largest mountain Himalaya looks small. She also had many reasons to end her life, but she chooses to survive. We have many more examples who overcome depression and created history. Because life is beautiful, it tests our strength by giving odd situations and in return gives rewards of happiness. Life is a series of thousands of tiny miracles. What we need is to notice them, internalise them. Life fails to be perfect but never fails to be beautiful, just keep in mind that if u believe in yourself then nothing can stop you.
